The first step is to book a 30-minute trial class (AED 100). If your child enjoys the experience, you can enrol in our Beginner Programme through the Knightsbridge Club App.

Children can begin fencing from the age of 7. Our Beginner Programme is divided into two age groups:Ages 7–9Ages 10–14To provide the best possible introduction, teenagers aged 15-17 and adults begin with a private lesson before joining group training where appropriate.

Every child begins in our 30-minute Beginner Programme, AED 100 per class, where they learn the foundations of Olympic fencing including footwork, blade work, safety, fencing etiquette and how to use the equipment correctly.Once they are confident and ready, they progress into our one-hour Sparring Programme, AED 195 per class.

Every child progresses at their own pace. Most children are ready after approximately one school term, once they have developed the necessary confidence, technique and understanding of fencing safety. The Sparring classes are 1 hour long AED 195 per class.

Training once a week is a great place to start.However, children who attend two or more sessions each week generally progress much faster and build confidence more quickly.

Yes. Knightsbridge provides the protective clothing, mask, glove, body wire and épée required for regular club training. Families do not need to purchase a personal kit before their child begins.Fencing equipment is highly specialised and sizing, safety standards and weapon specifications can make purchasing difficult for a new family. We therefore allow children to begin and continue training without requiring an immediate investment in a personal kit.As a fencer progresses, we encourage families to purchase their own equipment for improved fit, familiarity and competition preparation. The coaching team will advise when the time is right and help parents choose the appropriate set.

Absolutely. Adults are welcome to discover fencing through a private lesson with one of our coaches.30-minute private lesson: AED 385No previous experience is required.

Private lessons are ideal for beginners looking to build strong foundations, competitive fencers preparing for competitions, and adults who prefer one-to-one coaching. Every lesson is tailored to the individual's experience, goals and pace of development.
